Taking good care of your catheter by cleaning it and sterilizing it after each use will minimize the risk of infection. These are some of the basic tips on hand hygiene and home care that can help to minimize the risk of peritonitis infection.

•    Wash your hands thoroughly and sanitize with the provided disinfectant before handling your catheter or consumables

•    Keep your catheter and exit site clean and dry at all times

•    Wear a mask when performing exchanges

•    Store your PD supplies in a clean and dry area

•    Watch for signs of infection, which may include;
      o    Fever
      o    Redness or pain near the exit site
      o    Cloudy or off-color fluids during solution draining

Our nurses will also conduct regular home visits to ensure compliance in treatment method, personal hygiene and home cleanliness
